Show FullscreenDENMARK:Københavnmetro authority Metroselskabet has called tenders for the next contract to operate and maintain the capitals driverless network.Metroselskabet is jointly owned by the national government, the city of København and the municipality of Frederiksberg. It has overall responsibility for the metro, but it is required by law to tender operations to a private operator.The next contract with an estimated value of 24bn would start after the current deal with the metro Service joint venture of Milano transport operator ATM andHitachi RailSTS ends on September 28 2027. It is expected to run to 2039, with an option for a further three years.The deadline for applying to prequalify is July 31 2025, with invitations to tender expected to be sent at the end of August 2025 and a contract to be signed in September 2026.It is our ambition for the upcoming contract to maintain the high stability in operations and ensure a good experience for our increasing number of passengers, said Director of Operations Maintenance Søren Boysen. In the preparation of the tender, we have had good dialogues with the market.The 43 km four-line network has 44 stations and carried a record 126 million passengers in 2024.
